It may sound silly, but it took me forever to discover where the 'new post' button was now on the new Blogger layout. Forgive the lateness - it was a struggle!
This month is a complete redo of what was originally a mermaid under the sea. Instead I've chosen to do a jackalope (a jack rabbit with antlers!) in monsoon season, which is typically July-August in the American SW.
The rabbit itself is actually a Cloudsfactory piece: the rabbit from this Easter pattern was borrowed and given antlers! The clouds are snippets of clouds from the phoenix square and recolored to look like overlapping storm clouds. The background and cactus are, however, entirely original.
I wasn't sure about the greys for the clouds, because they looked so tan? warm toned? beige? on their own, but after stitching the rest of it, it looks like it fits okay.
